The rest of this guide focuses on each step in more detail.
Allow list destination sites
For security reasons, the destination site would need to be allow-listed first, which can be done by an instance admin via the Admin Panel. We have built the Admin Panel in order to help admins add domains to their allow-list.
In order to allow-list a destination site:

To generate an embed code for a post:
To generate an embed code for a group feed:
Add the embed code to the destination site
Copy the embed code and paste it in the destination site. Please make sure the destination site has the same URL or is a sub-site of the URL you have specified at the previous step.
Instructions to embed code in the destination site are specific to the 3rd party solution you’re embedding this code in. For example, if you are using SharePoint you can follow instructions at this link.
Security Considerations
Only instance admins will be able to see and create the embed code from a post or a group feed they have access to. Instance admins are also the ones who have to turn on Workplace Content Embed and allow-list the destination site via the Admin Panel.
No user data is shared between the 3rd party destination site and Workplace and Workplace Content Embed respect the privacy of the original content by only showing it to users who are logged in to Workplace in the same browser. If the content belongs to a closed group, the user needs to be a member of the group to see it.
